NBC Affiliate Tests Essential Oils as Bug Repellent

The good news is while this is effective for humans it also works well for dogs AND for plants too! It’s so much better than using all those toxic pesticides typically called “preventives” too, WOOF!
Here is the recipe my human uses to keep bugs far, far away from her outdoor plants:
1 capful of Thieves® Cleaner by Young Living
1-2 fresh garlic cloves crushed
tsp cayenne pepper
Mix together in a spray bottle with water and spritz plants. She also uses some food grade diatomaceous earth around the perimeter of the plants. It works VERY well and doesn’t hurt the environment or pets, WOOF! Be sure and wash your hands real good before touching your eyes if you get any of this on you bepaws it can sure burn thanks to the cayenne pepper.
She also makes a doggone great bug deterrent spray for dogs too: t.h.e. bloomingdogs be free aromatherapy spray for dogs
