YIPPEE! Winning, my favorite! It’s a start, WOOF! Get to keep my supplements, WOOF! Here’s the news from American Association for Health Freedom
Colleagues and Friends of Texas Health Freedom,
We received the following last night through Dr. Garry Gordon’s research forum. Please share the good news as widely as possible!
American Association for Health Freedom (AAHF) is pleased to announce that a critical decision was made by the European Commission and all because of our international affiliate, Alliance for Natural Health (ANH). In a stunning move, ANH received a letter from the European Commission (EC) signed by two heads of unit, which indicates clearly that all natural sources of vitamins and minerals, which could have been subject to a ban EU-wide, will escape the draconian EU Food Supplements Directive(FSD), and will now be regulated as foods. This means that not only will natural sources be outside of the Directive (thereby escaping the bans); this new letter reverses the position of the EC’s legal unit given to ANH in March 2006 and upholds their interpretation of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) 2005 ruling!!
The Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses will meet for the 29th session in Bad Neuenahr, Germany, from November 12 to 16, 2007.

What does this mean for us in the US? If (and that is a big “if”) the FDA continues to follow the EU in pursuing international “normalization” of dosages of supplements, then all natural sources of vitamins and minerals will be exempt from any FDA regulations in this regard. We will continue to monitor this situation closely. According to Scott Tips, head of the National Health Federation and health freedom delegate to the CODEX Commission, at this time the Commission is in the process of determining how to measure risk in evaluating various dosages of vitamins and minerals. This will take several years to work out. Therefore, we can expect a definitive CODEX decision on this issue no earlier than the 2011-2013 time frame.
