Arrrooo fellow pets and humans! Grrrr, I hear that word Thieves and I get my hackles all bunched up in my neck wrinkles and ready fight….uh, hehe, Mom had to tell me AGAIN, not thieves but Thieves™, YIPPEE! I love these Thieves. What is it? Well Thieves™ is an essential oil blend created by Dr. Gary Young of Young Living. He named it that after thieves from the middle ages who robbed plague victim bodies but didn’t get sick. One thief was caught and when the King demanded to know why he wasn’t getting sick, it was discovered that the thieves were using a blend of herbs to keep them from getting sick. Well herbs were used by the poor folk back then and essential oils by the wealthy. Now we can all get the benefits of the oils, WOOF! Yep, the same herbal blend used by these thieves are now in the Thieves Essential Oil blend only it’s the OILS not the HERBS and they have been proven 99.6% effective against airborne bacteria! Rwow! So here is what Mom shared on her dog group about what she does for ME with these Thieves™ products:


Well today on our radio show we talked about Thieves because we were talking about MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphyloccocus aureus). So I use Thieves on my dog Shadrach in these ways:
I always put some of the Thieves EO blend into my hand then smooth it over his coat. Staph bacteria live on our skin and in our noses so it just makes sense to put the Thieves on his coat, which is exactly what Dr. Blake suggests we do to prevent canine flu virus also. Thieves is 99.6% effective against airborne bacteria and also viruses and since MRSA is one of the most virulent superbug bacteria, Thieves is a great solution and preventive measure.

Also, Shadrach (he’s my big Neo Mastiff), thinks that when we brush our teeth, he should get his brushed too. Only he doesn’t really want the brushing, he just wants the toothpaste, lol. We use the Dentarome Ultra by YL, which has Thieves in it. I’m confident letting Shadrach have some of this toothpaste each day unlike the regular stuff on the market -yikes with fluoride and other “poop” in those I wouldn’t want to give that to him.

Shadrach also recently had the gums around his lower right incisor start to swell, get red, and I knew something wasn’t right so I did what Jeannie did with her Boston with bad gums -use Fresh Essence mouthwash with Thieves. I just started putting some on a cotton ball, add a little water to dilute (not really necessary with Shadrach because he likes chili too, lol) and I just swabbed that tooth then his entire mouth daily. Once that gum opened up, I was able to see that there was black plaque there and I scraped it out with a dental tool. So I’ve just been swabbing his gums and teeth daily now. It’s a ritual with us after our morning workout, LOL! He sits and expects to get his toothpaste and mouthwash, hehe. He’s a weird dog!
